While I enjoyed getting the original story to so iconic a character， I was put off by a lot of blatant racism and sexism。 The only reason I don’t rate it lower， is that I know that I am regarding an old story with a modern mind。 Still， the knowledge that middle class Victorian white men were extremely racist and sexist doesn’t make it okay。 On a more positive note， it was fascinating to see the moments our modern retellings were inspired from， and the unique twists we have made to these old stor While I enjoyed getting the original story to so iconic a character， I was put off by a lot of blatant racism and sexism。 The only reason I don’t rate it lower， is that I know that I am regarding an old story with a modern mind。 Still， the knowledge that middle class Victorian white men were extremely racist and sexist doesn’t make it okay。 On a more positive note， it was fascinating to see the moments our modern retellings were inspired from， and the unique twists we have made to these old stories。 I’d recommend it to anyone with a love for Sherlock and Watson and the classics， but caution anyone who picks it up to be prepared for a lot of script that would’ve never been published under today’s standards。 。。。more

65 Hours overs 8 months。 That is how much time I have dedicated myself to completing the series。 When I read the last story in the Sherlock Holmes collection， I felt the familiar bittersweet nostalgia that often comes with completing a series that I haven't felt in a very long time。 I think what's even sadder is knowing the Arthur Conan Doyle has long since passed so that even though there may be new adaptions of the Sherlock story， there will never be another true Sherlock Holmes adventure writ 65 Hours overs 8 months。 That is how much time I have dedicated myself to completing the series。 When I read the last story in the Sherlock Holmes collection， I felt the familiar bittersweet nostalgia that often comes with completing a series that I haven't felt in a very long time。 I think what's even sadder is knowing the Arthur Conan Doyle has long since passed so that even though there may be new adaptions of the Sherlock story， there will never be another true Sherlock Holmes adventure written again。 I feel especially connected to ACD， who based on my limited understanding of his life， was absolutely brilliant but also believed in fairies and spiritualism。 All this to say， thank you Sherlock Holmes for reigniting my love for fiction。 。。。more

Such a pleasure to be able to dip in and out of this over the past half a year。 Conan Doyle was clearly prolific， and it’s easy to see how his dynamic duo manages to capture imaginations even to this day。 You feel a genuine sense if pride if you manage to predict the outcome of a story; I managed about 4。 Couldn’t recommend highly enough - surely the absolute pinnacle of late-Victorian fiction。
